Bir and Beeling
Just 35 km away from the town, this village is famous for its Buddhist monasteries. Encircled by enormous natural wonders and tea gardens, this place offers beautiful opportunity to adventure lovers too. Fine Tibetan handi craft are produced here.
Baijnath
16 kilometres from the main town, the Shiva temple at Baijnath is one of the most remarkable monuments In Kangara Valley. Formerly known as ‘Kirgrama’, Baijnath got its name from Shiva Vaidyanatha. The temple consists of an ‘Adytum’ encircled by a spire of the usual conical shape with a ‘Mandap’ covered with a low pyramid shaped roof. The ‘Adytum’ contains the Lingam. There is fine sculpture work to be associated with Ravana, who worshipped Shiva at this spot and gained immortality.
Neugal Khad
Mere 2 km from town, Neugal Khad provides a fine view of the Dhauladhar range. Popular for cafe that provide good food and fine view from its restaurant, it is a popular picnic spot and ideal for a day escape from busy life.
Andreta
Just 13 km from the twon, Andereta is the home of the popular artist, late Sardar Shobha Singh and late playwriter Norah Richards, this place offers an excellent view of the Dhauladhar Range. Apart from exploring several stunning attractions, one can also experience here paragliding as it is widely known for several paragliding areas.
